Who We Are

Founded in 2014, we make it our mission to redefine the strength and determination of minorities in medicine through collaboration and palpable diversity. We are open to all regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, and all notions that divide us. Together, we can lessen racial and social disparities in health care and empower minorities in medicine.

Our vision is to cultivate a safe space for minorities in medicine. We promote culturally competent medical education and work culture. Minorities in Medicine increases the matriculation of underrepresented students in health professional schools through mentorship, scholarship, and fellowship. We support and enhance the careers of practicing minority healthcare professionals and we will assist in  rebuilding the medical system’s infrastructure into one that equally supports all human beings.

Our organization collaborates with individuals, organizations, and corporations who share our values in championing cultural competence. We welcome professional school students, practicing medical professionals, and researchers to partner with us to expose our student base to the wealth of opportunities there are in the medical field. We build chapters across the country to tailor to the needs of individuals in an authentic way. We are always accepting applications to start new MM Chapters.
