Who We Are

Founded in 2014, we make it our mission to redefine the strength and determination of minorities in medicine through collaboration and palpable diversity. We are open to all regardless of race, ethnicity, religion, sexuality, and all notions that divide us. Together, we can lessen racial and social disparities in healthcare and empower minorities in medicine.

Our vision is to cultivate a safe space for minorities in medicine. We promote culturally competent medical education and work culture. Minorities in Medicine increases the matriculation of underrepresented students in health professional schools through mentorship, scholarship, and fellowship. We support and enhance the careers of practicing minority healthcare professionals and we will assist in  rebuilding the medical system’s infrastructure into one that equally supports all human beings.

Our organization collaborates with individuals, organizations, and corporations aligned with our values to champion cultural competence throughout the healthcare community. Our inclusive approach supports minorities at every stage of their medical careers—from pre-health students exploring their pathways, to practicing medical professionals seeking advancement, to researchers driving innovation and equity. Through our nationwide chapters, we address diverse needs authentically and continuously welcome partnerships and applications to establish new MM chapters.
